Soils and Top Dress

Soil is made up of clay and silt particles, sand and organic matter. Formed over millennia, it covers the surface of the earth and plays a vital role in nourishing our ecosystem.

Plant’s get 80% of what they need to thrive through their roots. Healthy, fertile soil should contain balanced minerals and organic matter to stimulate soil biology and plant growth.

LANDSCAPE MIX

This mix is best described as a general-use garden soil. It contains aerobically composted and enriched organics, which are ideal for sustaining beneficial microbial activity in all garden applications.

Made from screened topsoil and vegetation-based compost, Earthborn’s Landscape Mix is suitable for in-ground plants including most natives, tropicals, fruits and vegetables. It can be used in both residential and commercial environments.

The combination of natural topsoil and composted organics assists with drainage and water penetration to root systems, provides biological stimulation to boost plant growth and regulates soil temperatures to buffer changes in climate.

PREMIUM SOIL MIX

This blend is suitable as a garden soil or under turf mix. Made from finely screened vegetation-based compost, sand and screened topsoil. Earthborn’s Premium Soil Mix has added nutrient from organic fertilisers – pelletised chicken manure, gypsum and dolomite.

The combination of natural topsoil and composted organics assists with drainage and water penetration to root systems, provides biological stimulation to boost plant growth and regulates soil temperatures to buffer changes in climate.

SCREENED SOIL
TOP DRESS

A blend of superfine compost, Mary River sand and basalt dust. Includes fertiliser.

Encourage growth of thin or uneven turf with Earthborn’s Top Dress. It will help restore natural soil levels by filling bare or patchy areas. This sandy medium allows free flowing drainage. The organic content replenishes nutrients that have leached out due to erosion from heavy rain, repeated foot traffic or a lack of maintenance.

Size: minus 6mm sieve.

Spread over turf, up to 10mm thick. Deeper holes and patches may need to be filled in more gradually with a few top dress applications over time.
